Miss Schwaben

The Miss Schwaben pageant is a yearly event. Unmarried women aged 16 and older who are active members of the Schwaben Club may enter the pageant. Contestants are asked to demonstrate knowledge of the club and the heritage of the Schwaben people. While being of Schwabian decent is an asset, it is not a requirement to compete in the pageant.

The woman who is crowned Miss Schwaben will represent the club and our heritage for the entire year. She may also be asked to compete in the Miss Kitchener-Waterloo pageant. As the ambassador of the club, Miss Schwaben will appear at all Club functions to greet guests and say a few words. Women interested in competing in the Miss Schwaben pageant should contact Monica Anstett through the Club early in the year, if they wish to compete.

Miss Schwaben 2008 is Magdalena Adam

Magdalena Adam is 18 years old and currently taking the Tourism and Travel program at Fanshawe College in London , Ontario.

She has been part of the club since a very early age, seeing as her great-grandfather was one of the founding members of the club. Magdalena started out dancing with the Youth Group. Then at the age of 15 started dancing with the Schwaben Dancers, where she took on the role of Costume Director last year.

She looks forward to the coming year and is hoping to make it one of the most memorable
